A Summer to Remember
A Summer to Remember
HK on the DL | Episode #2
This summer was one for the books—sun-soaked, ice-cream-filled, and overflowing with memories I’ll be holding onto long after the tan lines fade.
We spent countless afternoons wandering beaches with sandy toes and sticky fingers from cones that melted faster than we could eat them. My daughter’s team capped off the season by winning their championship baseball game (proud mom moment!) while my son strapped on the pads for his first tackle football season—both milestones that reminded me how quickly they’re growing and how fun it is to cheer them on.
There was a whirlwind wedding weekend in sunny Florida, followed by a family camping trip along the East Coast, where we traded Wi-Fi for campfires, wandering new trails, and conversations under the stars. And through it all, I kept reminding myself how lucky I am to create my own schedule and to share the perk of being married to a teacher—together, we get the gift of long stretches of time to travel, reset, and just be with family.
Of course, work never disappears completely (and honestly, I like it that way). My favorite unexpected marketing moment? Watching my kids proudly plaster my new branding stickers across designated “legal walls” in NYC, Boston, and Cape Cod. Who knew I’d have two little street-team members helping me spread the word?
This summer was a beautiful reminder that while work fuels the dreams, it’s the family time, the adventures, and the memories that make it all worthwhile. Here’s to a season that filled our hearts (and our bellies—with plenty of ice cream), and to carrying that joy into the rest of the year.
Cheers.
