Workspace Mojo
Workspace Mojo
CREATING SPACES | Episode #3
There’s something magical about creating a space you simply don’t want to leave. A space that feels good, inspires you, and reflects the energy you want to bring into your work and life. That’s exactly what I set out to create with my current workspace — and the transformation has been nothing short of joyful.
My “office,” as it’s now called, has lived many lives. It started as a dining room, then became a toy room, and now — my creative headquarters. It also happens to double as a mini art studio for my kids, because creativity runs deep in this house. Their art supplies sit right alongside mine, ready for spontaneous bursts of imagination. I love that they get to create right beside me — it makes the space feel even more alive.
Before this transformation, my workspace was tucked deep in what I lovingly (and accurately) referred to as “the bat cave” — a basement corner with no windows, no sunlight, and zero aesthetic charm. It was functional, sure, but it didn’t spark that creative mojo I thrive on.
Now? I have windows. Sunshine. And an ever-changing view of my backyard — which, fun fact, was landscaped by yours truly. It’s the kind of setting that fuels focus and calm, with just enough distraction to let my mind wander in the best ways.
One of my favorite things about this view is the cherry blossom tree just outside my window. We planted it on Arbor Day last year in memory of our sweet pup — my “first born child” — who passed the year before. Every time I glance up from my work and see the birds perched on its branches, waiting their turn at the feeders, I feel a mix of peace and gratitude. (Side note: yes, we are huge nature and animal lovers around here…2 bird feeders, 3 hummingbird feeders, 1 squirrel feeder, and a vegetable garden that the rabbits can’t seem to get enough of.)
My workspace is full of inspiration, thoughtful décor, organization, and purpose. Every piece, every corner, every little detail is intentional — designed to make me smile and to remind me why I do what I do. It’s proof that when you pour creativity into your environment, it pours creativity right back into you.
Creating spaces that bring joy isn’t just about pretty things — it’s about energy. About crafting an environment that reflects your passions, your memories, and your dreams. That’s where the real workspace mojo lives. ✨
